Aaron Cohen tweeting in the Burmese jungle

UPDATE: Aaron’s tweets continue. Read his posts about interviewing Russian sex slaves in Bangkok.
Human rights activist and Causecast leader Aaron Cohen has been tweeting up a storm in Burma, where he unexpectedly had the opportunity to travel and is negotiating the release of child soldiers from militant groups. His group must avoid encounters with the forces of the State Peace and Development Council, the military regime that has held control of Myanmar since 1988.
His experiences over the past days have been truly inspiring as he posts messages and photos via Twitter. Below is a recap of his latest tweets from Myanmar and Bangkok (times indicate when updates appeared in Pacific Daylight Time):
March 7, 3:32 AM: Our security was breached going in. as our body guards evaded the SPDC spies sent to compromise our position.
March 7, 3:33 AM: We bought six large bags of rice, medicines and anti biotics and went in with the Wah National Army in Myanmar Burma.
March 7, 3:34 AM: The fighting is getting too heavy to remain where we were with the constant pop, sizzle of bullets singing by.
March 7, 3:35 AM: We doubled around, down the Mekong and drove 60 kilometers west for a new entry and a chance to see the child soldiers.
March 7, 3:38 AM: I’m going back to the Wah side of the war in the morning to help with the child soldiers. The commanders of the Wah and the Shan are being helpful
March 7, 3:42 AM: Myanmar Burma has a ghost inside, and we are exorcising a new start for these young children. Thanks for the support.
March 7, 3:44 AM: I happy to no longer be a detainee in SPDC hands, but am still going back into the fighting tomorrow for the children.
March 10, 2:20 PM: Coming out of Myanmar. Negotiated an MOU releasing over 100 child soldiers under the age of 16. Now they can learn to read and write.
March 10, 2:23 PM: Full moon was beautiful from the jungles of Burma. I only made 1 phone call. It was someone who would encourage me to keep going w love.
March 10, 2:26 PM: Materialism, ego, fame, wealth and the pursuit of career interests seem irrelevant now. It all seems so stupid, looking at the full moon.
His most recent posts have included photographs of Cohen in the jungle and with a rebel army commander. Aaron Cohen founded the site AbolishSlavery.org.
